Community Development 101 Program

April 9th meeting has been changed to April 16th at the same time and place.

Douglasville Community Development 101 is a five (5) series program, that began January 8, 2019. Each session is one and a half (1.5) hours, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., one evening a month (Tuesday) ending with a graduation ceremony on Thursday, May 16, 2018. Classes will include an overview the five divisions of Community Development and interactive learning opportunities. At the end of the program, participants will have an increased understanding of the organizational structure and operations of the Community Development Department and how this office impacts the quality of life in the City of Douglasville. Graduates of “Community Development 101” will be prepared to have a role in the future of their neighborhoods and the City overall.


  • Anyone, resident or not, with an interest in community development may participate. 
  • Participants must be 18 years or older to participate in the program. 
  • Classes are limited to 20 participants. 
  • Class rosters will be filled on a first-come, first served basis.
  • There is no charge for the program.

  • Tuesday, February 12, 2019
  • Tuesday, March 12, 2019
  • Tuesday, April 16th, 2019 (Changed from 4/9/19)
  • Tuesday, May 14, 2019
  • Thursday, May 16, 2019 (Graduation)
