The Mayor and City Council meet regularly at 6:00 pm on the first and third Mondays of every month, and on the preceding Thursday evenings at 6:00 pm. The city allows a brief invocation to be given before each meeting by an invited minister or individual. The city is committed to religious and ethnic diversity and welcomes people of all faiths to participate in leading a pre-meeting prayer or brief inspirational statement. When are the City Council meetings held?

Regular (voting) meetings are held on the first and third Mondays of each month, and Legislative work sessions are held on the Thursday prior to each Regular meeting. All meetings begin at 6:00 p.m., in the auditorium of the Douglasville Conference Center, 6700 Church Street. Other meetings are held from time to time after proper notice.
