Community Garden

The mission of the Keep Douglasville Beautiful Community Gardens is to provide Douglasville residents living in USDA-designated “food deserts” sustainable access to high quality, fresh produce.  The Mill Village Community Garden, located at 6302 Johnson Street in the Mill Village neighborhood, was established in the Spring of 2020 through a grant from Keep America Beautiful and the dedicated work of two AmeriCorps VISTAs.

The Garden has eight raised beds, that are used to grow vegetables and herbs, as well as multiple varieties of fruit trees and shrubs planted throughout the property.  All produce grown in the garden is free for community members to take care of and to harvest. The garden is maintained by Keep Douglasville Beautiful and supported by community volunteers.  In addition to planting and growing, Keep Douglasville Beautiful also schedules workdays for large- and small-scale garden improvement projects. Volunteers are always welcome and greatly appreciated.

Mayors' Monarch Pledge Garden

Mayors Monarch PledgeThe National Wildlife Federation and local municipalities across the country have created the Mayors' Monarch Pledge to help stem the serious decline of the iconic monarch butterfly population. Butterflies are vital "pollinators" in our ecosystem.

Keep Douglasville Beautiful is spearheading this effort for Mayor Robinson, and she proclaimed February 2, 2017 as "Mayors’ Monarch Pledge Day”.

This garden is also part of the Douglas County Butterfly Trail.

Military Honor Garden

Keep Douglasville Beautiful is proud to have spearheaded the Douglasville Military Honor Garden. Created as a place to celebrate the honor and courage that members of the Douglasville military community have displayed during their service to our country, the Douglasville Military Honor Garden welcomes visitors to a place of beauty for those who wish to pay tribute to the brave military men, women, and families who sacrifice for our freedoms.

The garden is a beautiful public space, built with the support of citizens, service organizations, and businesses in our community for the benefit of the community. Memorial trees, garden spaces, markers, and benches are placed throughout the garden to create a vibrant, social space to enjoy and inspire.
