Yard Waste

Yard waste is picked up weekly on your scheduled sanitation day.

Here are some guidelines to assist residents of Douglasville in disposing of yard waste and garden debris. Residents found disposing of yard waste not generated on that property will be charged a special pickup fee for removal ($25 minimum fee).

The items eligible for collection and disposal are as follows:

  • Tree Branches – tree branches that are 6 inches or less in diameter and no longer than 5 feet may be placed at curb. No large trees or stumps.

  • Bagged Leaves and Grass Clippings – the use of biodegradable and/or compostable bags is required for curbside collection – no plastic bags, please. Please be sure there is no animal waste mixed in with the leaves and grass. Please note that there is a 50-pound weight limit per bag.

  • Brush – brush stacked at curb.

  • Garden Debris – in bags (biodegradable/compostable bags required) and placed at curb.

The City of Douglasville promotes “green living” by requiring the use of biodegradable or compostable lawn and leaf bags – no plastic bags, please.

These biodegradable bags are available at various hardware, home improvement, and other retail locations in Douglasville.
