Election Date & Polling Places 2021
The General Election for the City of Douglasville, Georgia will be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2021. This election is for Council Member seats for Ward 1, Ward 2 (Post 1), Ward 3 (Post 1), Ward 3 (Post 2) as well as a general obligation debt referendum bond.
On August 6, City Council voted to put a bond referendum before voters in the November 2 Municipal General Election. This bond referendum will ask citizens if bonds should be raised to pay for the design and construction costs to renovate Jessie Davis Park. This bond includes synthetic turf on playing fields, a new swimming pool, splash pad, restroom building and pavilion areas, as well as other phases for gymnasium, community center and senior center. The referendum will be placed on the ballot as follows:

Shall general obligation debt of the City of Douglasville, Georgia be issued in an aggregate principal amount not to exceed $25,000,000 in order to fund the acquisition, construction and furnishing of additional amenities and recreational facilities at the Jessie G. Davis Memorial Park, and the costs of issuing the debt?

Voting of open Council Member seats will be allowed in Precincts 729, 730, 732, 733, 734, 737, 740, 1259, 1273, 1275 for Ward 1, Ward 2 (Post 1), Ward 3 (Post 1), Ward 3 (Post 2). All City precincts will be open for voting to authorize general obligation debt bond; therefore, allowing all registered electors of the City of Douglasville the opportunity to vote on November 2, 2021.

The hours for voting shall be 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. The offices to be elected are Councilmember Ward 1; Councilmember Ward 2, Post 1; Councilmember Ward 3, Post 1; and Councilmember Ward 3, Post 2.
