Douglasville Parks and Recreation is pleased to announce our new Mobile Playground initiative. We will be out at different Douglasville Parks every Tuesday and Friday from 1-4 PM through August.
We aren’t comfortable opening the playgrounds given the CDC guidelines for managing overcrowding and properly disinfecting equipment, so since our #RecInABag program was well received, we came up with a way to expand it.
The Mobile Playground offers games like life-sized Connect Four, Checkers, and Jenga, along with stacking cups, hula hoops, jump ropes, just anything that allows kids to play outside.
To ensure safety, kids and parents must get their temperatures checked and answer a series of questions prior to accessing the Mobile Playground. All the games and activities will be carefully sanitized before and after Mobile Playground use. There will also be a designated parent area to monitor the children playing.
