The Human Resources Department is pleased to present Environmental Awareness Week in partnership with the Keep Douglasville Beautiful Department. Environmental wellness is having the awareness of the instability of the environment and the affect that our daily habits have on our physical surroundings. To promote environmental awareness and health, several activities have been designed just for you. Below is a list of events you can anticipate:
08/11 – Local Eatery Day
Employees are invited to go to church street Farmer’s Market from 3pm – 4pm.
08/12 – Sustainable Living Day - Take the BYO Pledge
Employees are encouraged to conduct a trash audit to see what can be eliminated bringing your own (BYO) and refusing items. Employees who take the BYO pledge will get a reusable water bottle.
08/13 – Carpool to Work Day
Find someone to share the ride with.
08/14 – Sun Safety Day: Farm to Table Potluck Lunch
Join us for an outdoor Farm to Table potluck lunch at Mill Village Community Garden. Bring a favorite dish made from fresh produce, your reusable water bottle and your own cutlery and plate. This will be a zero waste event. Signup here and then let us know what dish you will be bringing here.
