Know Your Bias
This workshop explores the concept of workplace bias — both conscious and unconscious — and how hidden biases can interfere with decisions at work and life in general. It also covers risk factors that make individuals more susceptible to the influence of unconscious biases. To understand and appreciate diversity in the workplace, you must develop an understanding of yourself and the ways in which you and others view the world. Your ability to use a variety of strategies to effectively deal with diverse situations is very important.
Know Your Bias will be facilitated by Douglas County Chamber Vice President of Operations, Julia Areh. Julia Areh brings a progressive and mission driven mindset with over a decade of combined experience in operations management, diversity advocacy, program development, and community engagement to the Chamber. She has a demonstrated history of championing access, equity, and inclusion. All attendees will be entered to receive a gift card.
