Douglasville has big plans for its town center, from street redesigns and trails to new park and development concepts. Over the past five years, many plans have been created for this area to address topics like transportation and art, as well as small area plans for Downtown and the New Horizons neighborhood. Each previous plan has its own set of projects and priorities. Altogether, more than 150 projects have been proposed for this area!
To focus the City’s resources and energy, this action - oriented plan will identify the key projects from previous plans that will best address priority issues and set the town center up for success for years to come. It will include a short list of priority projects from previous plans, strategic new projects that may be needed to fill critical gaps, and implementation strategies to move these priority projects forward over the next five years.
The study area includes Downtown and the New Horizons neighborhood, as well as connections to these areas from surrounding neighborhoods, as shown in the map below.
