Calling all residents and Businesses of Douglasville to join the Neighborhood Litter Brigade!
Take pride in your community – protect our waterways – inspire others – volunteer with family and friends – have fun – make a difference
Why pick up litter?
- Litter hurts our neighborhoods and businesses. Heavily littered neighborhoods may look less attractive and be less appealing to home buyers or new businesses. Keeping your neighborhood clean of litter can increase property values without raising taxes.
- Litter harms our lakes, creeks, rivers & wildlife. During rainstorms litter washes down our streets and storm drains into nearby lakes, creeks, and rivers. It can accumulate into unsightly trash heaps and cause harm to wildlife. Litter and debris can also clog storm drains causing flooding in neighborhoods. Marking a storm drain lets people know to "watch out" for it because of where it drains.
- Be a good neighbor, citizen, and steward of the earth. We all want to live in a neighborhood, city, and world that is clean and healthy. Do your small part to keep our city and green spaces beautiful!
